Health Care Prevention and Wellness Exams

We encourage annual wellness exams to ensure the continuing health of your pets. From new puppy and kitten visits to geriatric work ups, we perform thorough and comprehensive exams and discuss appropriate health issues. Our goal is to keep you well informed of your pets’ health concerns and provide you with information to help you make informed decision about the care of your pets.

We have a comprehensive vaccine protocol that uses the best vaccines available in a responsible and individually tailored manner. Each pet and family has specific vaccine needs and we strive to accommodate these needs depending on your pets’ life style, age, and risks factors.

Companion Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is a painless use of laser energy to generate a photochemical response in damaged or dysfunctional tissue. Laser therapy can alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. As rehabilitation specialists know, the main goal of treatment for many painful, debilitating conditions is to facilitate improved function and mobility. Laser therapy is a drug-free, surgery-free technique to help make that goal a reality.

Oral health care is a very important part of your pets’ overall well-being. Like people, cats and dogs have a constant battle to prevent and control plaque and tartar buildup, and tooth decay. We provide all levels of oral health care from prevention to extraction. As with surgery, anesthesia is a very vital part of canine and feline dentistry. All patients are monitored with EKG, blood pressure and pulse oximetry to provide safe levels of anesthesia. Intravenous catheters and fluids provide an additional level of safety and significantly improve recovery from anesthesia. Dentals are performed weekdays, usually in the morning, and pets go home in the afternoon. Pain management and antibiotics are often prescribed when pets have a significant degree of dental disease or need extractions. Preventative maintenance and good prophylactic dental care can help ensure your pet lives a long healthy life.

We stock an extensive supply of prescription diets and medications in the clinic. This provides convenient and cost effective dispensing of medications and diets for our clients. We utilize other resources for compounded medications and less commonly used drugs.

As part of our overall commitment to pet health and service, our doctors and staff are able to provide a variety of chemotherapy options in the unfortunate circumstance that pets develop cancer. Chemotherapy provides an additional treatment modality that can extend the length and quality of life in pets with cancer. Our doctors work closely with Washington State University and local internal medicine specialists to ensure we are using the latest procedures and protocols. In addition, we have referral services which provide radiation and other forms of cancer treatment. Most of our veterinary patients undergoing chemotherapy do not have many of the adverse side effects we see in people. A variety of chemotherapy options are available for many types of cancer.
